At Refold, we’re all about using real native content to become fluent. However, this can be quite challenging when natives speak so darn quickly! Speed up your ability to hear words and sentences by mastering the sounds as quickly as possible.
Why do you need to learn sounds?
Every language has a different set of sounds that are used to make words. Many of them do not exist in English. In order to understand full-speed Spanish, you will need to teach your brain these news sounds.
If you want to be able to hear full-speed Spanish and achieve accurate pronunciation, you’ll need to know what those sounds are!
Introducing the Sounds of Spanish Deck
Our Sounds of Spanish deck is optimized to help you understand native Spanish speakers as quickly as possible.
We examined all the sounds that are used in standard Latin American Spanish and General American English and used our years of experience in linguistics, phonology, English, and Spanish to make a never-before-seen resource aimed at regular people who just want to hear what’s being said!
To save you time, we only included the sounds and exercises that you absolutely need:
- Sounds to learn: 31
- Minimal pairs to practice: 24
- Sentences to analyze: 20
How to learn the sounds of Spanish:
- Study each of the sounds in the language.
- Practicing hearing those sounds.
- Immerse in Spanish media content! You’ll need to expose yourself to the language to notice and reinforce the sounds.
- Now that you’ve gotten a grasp on hearing Spanish as it is, everything will solidify in your head over time.
