The r/spanish Community Playlist
Learning Spanish, and you want to discover some new music in Spanish to motivate and inspire you on your journey to fluency?
We’ve got you covered! We reached out to the r/Spanish community on Reddit to share their favorite Spanish-language artists—and turned their top picks into a curated Spotify playlist.
It’s packed with incredible music, from reggaetón and cumbia to indie alternative and beyond!
💡Tip: Duplicate this playlist to your own Spotify library so you can make it your own and discover even MORE music you love.
As you customize your playlist, Spotify will start recommending new tracks at the bottom that match the style. Just scroll all the way to the bottom until you reach the “Recommended” section. It’s a great way to discover even more Spanish-language music that suits your taste!
Here’s how:
- Create a new playlist in Spotify.
- Open this playlist in Spotify.
- Right-click on the playlist name and select “Add to other playlist.”
- Click the name of the playlist you want to add these songs to.
- Customize your playlist!
- Save the songs you love, remove the ones you don’t.
- Scroll down to the “Recommended” section of your playlist and add any songs you like!
Now that you have all this great music, you can listen to it for inspiration and even use it to learn Spanish!
How to Use Music to Learn Spanish (or Any Language)
Music is a great way to connect with and understand different cultures, stay excited about learning, and remember new words and phrases.
However, just passively listening to music won’t increase your comprehension of the language (as fun as it is!). Luckily, some features on Spotify make listening to music a powerful tool for language learners.
And one of my favorite ways to use music on Spotify to learn a language is to practice reading.

How to Practice Reading Spanish with Spotify
Spotify has an awesome feature that allows you to read the lyrics of a song while you’re listening to it.
To access it, all you need to do is start playing a song in your target language and then click the little microphone icon.

Then, your screen will look like this so you can read along while you listen!

Cool right? It even works on your phone!
Here’s my recommendation for getting the most out of these lyrics:
- Listen to the song while reading along without looking anything up. Just listen and enjoy.
- Once the song ends, look up any words you didn’t know using your favorite dictionary.
- Optional: Add unfamiliar words to Anki or your Goldlist notebook.
- Listen to the song again and try to remember the meaning of those words!
- Revisit the song after a day or so to see how much you remember!
